Trumpeter has an official website, I found it using the google search engine, and sent them an 'Attaboy' for producing the Japanese IFV(very Anime-looking vehicle, really attractive looking; absolutely stunning molding on the grills! I swear it looks like it's gonna turn into a robot anytime). They sent me back an email thanking me for the kind words. I also mentioned a few items I'd like to see, and Trumpeter(NOT their importer, Stevens International) would be the ones to hit up.
I suggest an email campaign to get some of that wicked-looking S.Afrikaans bush armor produced. I also think the big rock in the way is whether or not the S.Afrikaans 'Powers That Be' would allow access to their stuff.....

I'd build one. :) It would have to get in line behind the frillion other things I've got on my wish list, but that list includes Trumpeter's equally obscure Chinese Type 89.

Fascinating vehicle, and I'd never heard of it before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Artorius.

Well, guys, we know the reason what would make kit manufacturers come out with a certain model: DEMAND.

That is undeniably true, but going back to Trumpeter, I wonder why they released an Osorio?
Where was the demand?
Cool tank, for sure...but I just barely had any idea of what it was when I first saw the kit, let alone felt any demand for it.

The S-tank is certainly much more popular, and I can see why Trump would release a kit of that AFV.

So, in the present state of unfortunately low demand for RSA vehicles, I'd still say Trump's the only hope!

Well, guys, we know the reason what would make kit manufacturers come out with a certain model: DEMAND. Ever wonder why there seems to be gazillions of versions of Panthers, Tiger I's, P-51's, P-47's, etc., from these companies and yet they'll still be churning out more versions of these models in the future?!? It's because these are sure-shot favorites and people will keep asking for them. Manufacturers are not going to invest a hefty sum in new molds and tooling for a model that only a handful will want. Sometimes, though, kit makers will release a new model in limited quantities to test the waters and see if they'll make a profit from it. If it's a best-seller, chances are they'll continue the run. So, bottom-line is, we drive the market. If there is a model we want and we want it good, we should write or e-mail our favorite companies about what we would want them to make for us. Heck, tell your friends and let's start a writing campaign Wink [;)]! Let's start with this Rhino, perhaps? I sure would love to build that brute!

The same can be said of Trumpeter puting out kits of Swedish S tanks, There's something I never thought I'd see come out of a mainstream outfit.

If Trumpeter ever does put out RSA armour kits in 1/35, I hope they'll add a 1/35 Atlas Rooivalk gunship to their helicopter range too.

I think Trump's the only hope for RSA stuff as injection kits.

Until those Rhinos start flying off the shelves. That might get the attention of Tamiya et al.

I think that sort of thing is typical of any modeling subject that doesn't represent the industries of the big superpowers in the world.

I'm more of an aircraft builder and I wish more Canadian designed and built aircraft would be represented by mainstream manufacturers.

I can understand why you'd like to see more SA military gear in kit form, your country has some unique stuff in its military inventory.

I'd never heard of or seen a Rhino vehicle until I saw that photo in your signature. I wouldn't mind one of those in 1/35 on my shelf somewhere.

Hi all.
I was wondering and maybe some1 can answer this question. WHY IS THERE NO 1/35 SOUTH AFRICAN ARMOUR ON THE MARKET? I ask this because i am a huge fan of SA armour. I hav seen a couple of companies that make 1/72 resin kits but they all seem to be out of it, (Baxmod,Aerografix) if u know what i mean. It would make a nice change to see sum of our armour. Dont u think.

Just venting sum frustration and giving my My 2 cents [2c]. I will get off the box nowSoapBox [soapbox]
