Completed Ford GPA (Pics)
Posted by Dwight Ta-ala on Sunday, May 30, 2004 6:25 PM

Here are the pics of my completed Ford GPA which is my entry to the Small AFV GB. I have also completed the dio base, the figures and other stuff.

I tried to depict here the GPA approaching a river bank with one soldier trying to scan the area.

Here are the overall views of the diorama.

Here are some close-up views:

As you all know, this kit was sent to me by Shermanfreak as an unexpected gift so I really tried to make a good job on this one to show my appreciation.

Joe: ThanksWink [;)]

Sherm: I am relieved that you like it. Thanks for the kit.Smile [:)]

Thundergod/Butz: Thanks for the nice words. The tree was made as follows:

Trunk/Branches - Twisted wire wrapped in masking tape and puttied to give it a rough texture. (Hand painted and drybrushed)

Leaves: Pieces of scotchbrite pad coated with woodland scenics coarse turfing materials. (Airbrushed on some areas to give variation and depth)

frosty: Thanks. Well, I myself am still trying out things in doing this trees. You should try it yourself, too. I know you can do better, especially in braille.

phroosh: Cmon, it is really nice doing these dios even small ones. Well this is my 6th and I think I am beginning to get the hang of it.Big Smile [:D]. It is good to know that over time I am improving.

zokissima: I believe so. The base can sometimes make or break the model. Thanks for the comments.

build22: LOL. Well, it actually felt good doing something different for a change. Wink [;)]
Thanks.

LQ2: Thanks for the compliments. I am surprised myself it turned better than I expected. The putty cracking really did its job.

Captain Caveman: Thanks, too.

Kennethc: Wow, I ma flattered you mentioned it twice.Big Smile [:D]

ShermanFirefly: Well, thanks for the nice words.
