I saw the badge and looked a bit busy to me. How about a famous tank with wings and a famous plane with treads? Please don't throw tomatoes!

Hey guys...

Jeff and Bill-- Please understand-- I got myself into the too many builds...I am not really upset at anyone in particular-- I have been thinking about this for a while now. I was getting frustrated at what seemed like the stop and go nature if this build. I probably should've never got myself involved as a coordinator...I like being just a plain participant better.

I am building 2 bombers for the bomber build, a Devastator for the Pacific build, a P-40 for a GB on another forum, and now a Stang for Steve-O's build ( can't pass it up!). I am with joe though- I will play wait and see here...I have the Sherman waiing to build already, but am involved in the 2 bombers at the moment. I meant what I said-- best of luck getting this going...

Jeff-- as far as the sig link goes-- just click Wink [;)]

Here, Sir!!

I've (barely) started on my Accurate Miniatures SBD-5 Dauntless. I've got the PE on the cockpit sidewalls and the sidewalls painted zinc chromate. Also have the instrument pannel in zinc chromate, and the pe instrument panel faces in semi-gloss black.

Jeeves, if my comment about the name of the build upset or otherwise offended you, I appoligize. I was just giving my opinion.

Are you really serious Jeeves... come on. Tell ya all what you take a breather Jeeves and awasoda til you arent so tired of it. I will take over for ya til you are ready. What I will do is i will start here and on the plane forum a seperate thread to get this all in perspective again. I will set the start and end dates (please use these as guides if the actual leaders of the build decide to change them) rules and anything else. I am doing this to support Jeeves and awasoda in this endeaver and to help us all get set up and going.
Jeeves where did you get that new sig and what does it mean??

OK...I have to say this is the most unorganized build I have seen yet. I know Awasoda is busy, but there have been plenty of posts both here and in the aircraft forums in regards to trying to come up with names and start/stop dates. I have tried to keep things going as I think the build itself is a cool concept and took Quagmire up on his offer to create a badge. No one else seems to be interested in getting things going, so I have decided to stop trying myself.

I have a Sherman on the docket to build and think I will just do so on my own. I am taking myself off the list on this one...could use the time for the other ones I am a part of anyways. Goodluck to those of you who want this to continue-- but it seems destined to die on the vine.

I think the badge is cool. Don't like the Backwards logo, though. Guess it works for the wingy thingy guys, but not how I care to think of this build.

Just my opinion. I'll cert6ainly go with the group.

Hey, how about the AC/DC build, since we're "swapping currents", so to speak.

No complaints from members of the band, now!! lol

Awasoda...

I have been answering these types of questions in your stead, but it would really be nice if we could have a concrete start and end date, and a thread started in the Group Builds forum to follow instead of one here and one in aircraft. Especially for those of us who have 2 or more group builds going and no idea which one has the shorter build time. If you could work this out and let us know it would be a bonus. I will send you a list of names of the flyboys doing armor that I have now...

Wow,

OK so now we're starting over again? Geez....Well, the Panzer IV I did turned out OK. Just don't click on my models page in my sig...or maybe I could just delete the photos. Would only take a second or two...

I've started on my Accurate Miniatures SBD-5 with Eduard PE set. I've got the the left and right sidewalls in with most of the PE on them. Next will be getting up the nerve to grind off the beautiful detail on the Accurate Miniatures instrument panel, paint it, and put the Eduard parts on it. YaHa, here I go again!

I also picked up an Accurate Miniatures TBM-3D Avenger at Great Models the other day. It was about $18 off retail, and I couldn't pass it by. (Shhhh, don't tell the wife!) But I also picked up a Tamiya 1/35 Willes Jeep, so the light side hasn't sucked me up too badly!! lol

Joe,
That 109 could kill anything..... motivation, interest, will to live.
I'm waiting on the Midway SBD but I thought this wasn't a go for a while anyway. Wasn't someone going to rename it and start it up on a specific date?

See, if you screw something up on a tanks, call it battle damage or put a tarp over it, not for airplanes. Also, not many diorama accesories are available.

I am battling along with my Academy Storch. Some things never change; I was bad at planes 10 years ago and I still am. Mind you, choosing a kit with a canopy like a Storch wasn't the intellectual highlight of my year.

It is a bit disappointing for me, at this stage. I was just starting to think of all my favourite planes I could have models of. Reality bites.

Great kit though, if you are good at aircraft. I pulled a half finished Lockheed Ventura out to practice my skills on. Perhaps I just need practice...

I went back to airplanes not to longago, and noticed what a pain they are, so many seams, no dry transfers, not to much battle damage, no exterior drybrushing, no almost real metal tank treads, the list goes on. I could never turn back. Tongue [:P]
