Nice work, Rebel. Really good for a first try on a dio. Nice work on the gun and the figs, too.

Actually I am in the process of updating my first dio...putting it on a presentable base and adding some stuff.

Good work, Rebel! Very nice build.

One comment about the figures: the whites of the eyes are enormous! Boi-yoing! In 1/35, I don't use any white at all, just a dark wash.
Check out ref picks of soldiers in the field. With all the squinting that goes on, I'd bet you couldn't see the whites of their eyes even if you were standing right next to them!

It is definitely that look!

Good dio, John!
I hope my eyeball comments don't offend ya. Just trying to give a little CC! (Constructive criticism)

By the way, I don't think I've EVER seen convincing eyes done in 1/35 that incorporate the white portion of the eyes. Darkened slits, that's all eyes would be in 1/35.
Just look at these guys: Smile [:)]Wink [;)]Approve [^]Wink [;)]

Good point Brian. Going on the old Shep Paine rule of thumb that 1/35th is like looking at someone from 20 ft away, Ive always advised people to look at someone from across the room and see how much detail of their eye they can see. Do it outside and the whole dark slit thing makes even more sense.

Great job on the ground work rebel. Off to a great start. You'll go far young padwan....
