German uniform colors pre-1943
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 4, 2004 9:49 AM
Are there any websites that might show the uniform colors for the German tank crews?

I want to paint my tank-man dummie for my Panzer II but I am lacking in any color information. The kit instructions have some ideas but I would like more detailed information.

Tamiya is funny. The old kit instructions have some great interpretations of English grammer. I love the description of the crew figures, "tank-man dummiies". I think I'm becoming a tank-man dummy!!

German tank crews usually wore black uniforms, assault gun crews wore field grey. The Soldat books by Cyrus Lee are good sources of information and photographs if you can find them. Other good publishers are Concord and Osprey.
