academy m18 - confusion
Posted by wibhi2 on Monday, April 7, 2003 10:28 PM
To take a break from aircraft I decided to build academy's m18,
the kit with the turned brass barrel. Everything was going together fine until I started to install the road wheels et what.

On the right side, the front road wheel wants to run on the inside of the driver and on the left the road wheel wants to butt up against the return roller. On close scrutiny of the bottom the road wheels are slightly offset from each other - which is something my references don't show.

What did I do wrong?

A quick glance at some references I have here do show a slight offset between the left and right side of the suspension. Unfortunately I have not built this particular kit so really don't have too many answers for you at this time.

I'll bet it's the suspension arms. Someone probably didn't take into account the offset dimension - or somehow, I got them reversed.
