Here's a link to a site that I used. It really made it a lot easier for me to paint faces, thought I'm still not very good by the standards I've seen around here.

Stick to it ... it takes a lot of practice.

First might i say, very nice Panzer in your sig!!!!!!!!!

For painting faces I use Either Model Master enamle Tan or Tamiya Acrylic buff for the base. I use 1 coat of the Tan; for the buff i use 2 coats. then i apply a heavy acrylic wash, (tamiya red brown works great!)

I just started using this technique, and it works so much better than my old on.

I've got a couple of pretty good books, but the one that breaks it down the best and let me achieve acceptable results right away is "How to Paint Realistic Military Figures" by Lynn Kesseler and Don Winar. Published by, you guessed it, Kalmbach. Please note I said "acceptable". Faces take practise and every one I do is better than the one before it. Some day I'll even paint a "good" one.
