Russian track sag
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, June 5, 2004 2:08 PM
This is the track sag on my IS-3M, I'm not by any means an expert but this looks a little over the top. I would think it would be rough on the tracks and rough on the crew (trying not to drive them off).

Does this look right or should I get a set of Fruils? Big Smile [:D]

More than a little!

It looks like you probably can't fix this by just adjusting the track here and there. You might try fixing it by cutting one link out and splicing the track back together (usually right under a wheel or over a roller). I've done this by literally sewing the splice together with very fine black nylon thread and a touch of CA. Once painted and weathered it's pretty hard to spot unless your looking right at it.

If not, go with the AM tracks.

Did you secure it with pins? Sadly, I'd say it also looks oversagged.

Held down temporarily with brass rod through the hull.
It just looks fake, note how it curves over the center return roller. I wanted to do this OOB but I can't accept those tracks. Disapprove [V]
If I can shorten them as suggested all will be OK as the skirts hide the top half of the return rollers BUT if I have to go with AM indies I'm gonna have to rip off the skirts to show off the sag.Confused [%-)]Banged Head [banghead]Tongue [:P]

I'm with the FL Robert. Cout a block and sew it back together with some black thread. You can hold the thread in place with some CA. Then hide it under a roadwheel or over a support roller. Or you could try moving the idler wheel forward, now there's a project.
