Inventory on your current model supplies?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, June 6, 2004 3:57 PM
For some reason I feel that I just dont have enough supplies. I think I am paranoid!! I have on my modeling shelf:

5 bottles of testors model cement
1 bottle of testors cement for clear plastic
1 bottle elmers glue
20 some jars of model paint
15 good brushes...
pastels
paint thinner
2 knives
pliers
2 unbuilt models

It still seems like I dont have enough, lol I dont know why though....
What do all of you have in your stash?

I also had an old CD rack made of plastic that I bought awhile back. I took it, cut some thin plywood the size of a CD, and walla, new positionable shelves and it looks like the holder came that way! I have a positionable light as well, and a trash can nearby.
What do all of your modeling areas consist of? Personally, I have to be organized to focus on a project...

As I viewed the list of items I can say that I have everything listed. Just do not tell my wife! The one thing that I have that I did not see listed by anyone is a small portable vise that has rubber jaws and a suction style base. You can position this baby in a million ways, it really is like having a third hand. Picked it up at Lowe's for $30. This, my wife knows about, she was with me when I bought it.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] to ALL of the above.... Plus this variable speed deal I built for my dremel. It saves me from having to buy a fancy multi speed plus I can dial in the speed to to ANY thing from 30.000 Rpm to 1 Rpm. Its built with a wall plug and a dimmer switch wired together at the end of a short cord. works for soldering irons too....

Hmm, what do I have so far:
About 40-50 hobby paint jars (either MM, Tamiya, Humbrol Acryl or CItadel)
20 or so spray cans.
10 tubes of artists watercolour paints, Grumbacher (I use these for washes)
Some pastel chalks and weathering powders.
20-30 brushes, including small sable detail brushes and corase, large area brushes.
4 bottles of poster paint (2L each) in Brown, Black, White, and Dark Green. I use these for a basecoat on dios, as they're plentiful and cheap.
One pair of sprue cutters (need to get another, good pair)
Various pliers (prob 10 in all)
Sanding sticks and 3 rolls of general grain sanding paper.
Knives...lots of them. About 10 knives (different types of handles) and about 20 spare blades, most the standard cutting blade.
A half-used jar of Tamiya Cement plus one new jar of said cement.
One jar of testors liquid cement.
2 tubes (one almost empty) of Testors plastic tube glue.
1 tube of Testors filler compound (comes in a gray tube, same size as the orange glue tube)
2 full and one half-full bottles of white school glue.
One spray can (full) of spray adhesive.
Thinners of various kinds and brands.
Airbrush and compressor.
Two spare part boxes, used for differing parts. One is an old running shoe box that I use for medium to large peices, and the smaller one is the M26 recovery vehicle (dragon wagon) box for small parts, currently about to fill up.
Outside of that, I have a plethora of other things that come into use at different times, anything from rubber bands, popsicle sticks, to a bandsaw, clamps, wood, wire, mesh, you name it.
And waiting for all those to be used are 20-30 unbuilt models.
