Warning on Academy 1/35 WWII German Tank Crew and Supplies Set

If you are planning to get this kit for a diorama please consider these observations first:

I bought it some months back for supposedly my diorama for the Panther D but somebody warned me about it (I think it was Larry) so I didn't use it. Well since I have the kit already I thought I might use it. So when remodeling my first diorama, I used the figures and boy it was really funny.

1.) The figures are gigantic for the 1/35 scale making them like players from the NBA (Nazi Basketball Assoc.)Big Smile [:D].

2.) The facial expressions of the figure were really odd or downright funny.

3.) There is a little problem with the fit of the positions to the items that the figures are supposed to handle or hold.Angry [:(!]

Anyway, unless you are using them on their own without other figures from other manufacturers then in might be OK. But the figures are still much bigger compared to previous Academy fugures that I have.[:0]

So be warned. Anyway, I posted pics of my remodeled diorama in the diorama forum if you want to check these NBA players.Big Smile [:D]

Funny You
bring that up. I bought a resin set of german tank crew and they are the same way. The commander figureis taller without his boots on than my dragon figures. And the faces....all I can say is the OHHH face its hillarious. Oh ya they dont fit in any cupola or diver hatch openings.

Thanks for the warning, Dwight.

I was looking at buying those figures for my DML Panther.
Not now!

Regards, Dan

Just got mine out of the stash and they are huuuuuge! Pity, because the poses are reasonable, and at least the faces HAVE expressions, comical or not. Still, they could be used in isolation. I guess if I go through with making my P1000 Ratte, they won't look so big!
