Help! Question on ammo storage for British Achilles
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, June 7, 2004 1:08 AM
I bought the Acadmey Achilles on sale, terrific kit! However, according to AFV Interiors, the ammo storage in the hull is wrong, yet their view is vague. I have tried the AAMPS website, the Hunnicut book, and a few other sources, nada. Can anyone please help?

First of all ..... welcome to FSM !!

The shells were not stored in tubes like they were in the M10 and they were stacked in the racks "tip to tail".

Enjoy the forums !!!!

Go to this site. At the end of the next page on the M10 you will see a couple of diagrams showing the inside of the Achilles. The racks are depicted there.

Here is a pic from my almost completed, modified Achilles:

See Sherm - it's still coming.

These rounds were hand made using styrene rod that was carved and sanded down to the correct shape. The collar was made up using thin fuse wire loops. Hope this helps.
