WHere are the headlights? Also when did tigers start using the sides of the turret to stow track? Just curious. I figure one one of the tiger experts could help. Bill

Bill,
The headlights were often lost/ destroyed.. This particular tank didn't have the headlights in my referrence photos, so I deleted them..
The tracks were added to the turret after the initial version as a place to carry them and to add protection to the turret.

Thanks for the kind comments guys, I have only been modelling now for 2 years and I am certainly proud of this one.... I consider this to be one of the best I have done to date.. Hopefully, my skills are improving and I can continue to build satisfactory models..Wink [;)]

Nice Tiger!! How did you weather the tracks? Did you use any other PE or AM kits on the Tiger besides the tracks and barrel? Just curious...I am getting ready to embark on my Tiger and was curious to see if you used any other PE for the tie-downs, clamps, etc....

WOW!! I have just found a new idol. That tank is impressive. Now that I know they dont look to bad in tan, I wont need to screw my 1/72 tiger 1 up with more paint! Great job Panther18! Looking forward to seeing more models from you!

Just out of curiosity, what'd you use for the rust shade?

Hey guys,
On the tracks, I assembled the links, painted them with a flat black base, wiped off the cleats to the bare metal, then sprayed red brown and used burnt umber and raw sienna in an oil wash that gave it a rusty effect.. It turned out well and I used a similar process on my upcoming King Tiger..

The only PE I used is what came with the kit...Big Smile [:D]

The crews could unplug the lights whenever they wanted.
April '43 for the Spare track on the turret.
