Well, I have my 1/72 revell tiger 1 completed. I painted the tracks a flat black as well as the machine gun up top.

I now wish to make the tracks, (at the contact points of track to ground) apear to be bare metal. Is there an easy way to do this? I guess as far as weathering goes, I just need some pics. I know how to do it, but I need some general hints at the location of wear points etc. If it isnt too much trouble, please post some pictures of any 1/72 scale tank model. I'd like to see them all!

Regards,

You need to dry brush. Dry brushing is just using the bare minimum amount of paint on a brush and then lighly applying it to the raised parts of the tracks, the parts that would have had the most contact with the ground or with the road wheels.

FOr thsi scale i use a regular pencil #2 to apply weathering to the guide teeth of the sprockets. The graphite looks good in 1/72. There is a nice picture of my dragon 1/72 scale ferdinand in my "big thumbs down to trumpter 1/72 scale ferninad" post that is current right now. Its about 3/4 of the way down. Bill
