Wanted: 1:35 Daimler Armoured Car
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 4:25 AM
maybe you can help me with this: I am looking for a plastic 1:35 scale kit of the British WW2 Daimler Armoured Car (to be specific, I do not mean the Daimler "Dingo" Scout Car, of which a Tamiya model exists). I looked all over the internet but have not been able to find one. Does anyone know if such a kit exists? Many thanks in advance.

My local shop carries a resin armored car that is similar to the Tamiya kit, but is different. It is made by Maquette and runs around the $60 range.

Guyhill,
Welcome to the forum!!

i looked at greatmodels.com and searched on 1/35 daimler.
Accurate Armor makes a Mark I and a Mark II.
make sure you are seated when you look at the price.
Sovereign 2000 makes a Mk I, for a lot less.
that's all i saw there.

so, if you add that to Rob's contribution, there are at least 3, none cheap.

happy hunting.

Thanks for the tips. However I fear that the price for the Accurate Armor model is a bit too much for me. I might go with the Sovereign model though (although it is a MkI and I'd prefer a MkII, I'll have to think about it a bit).

Btw: Now I also understand why I did not find anything myself: I was looking for an "Armoured Car" in stead of an "Armored Car", this being a British vehicle after all. Can't you Americans spell properly? Wink [;)]

2 people(s) separated by a common language!
i hope this does not colour your perception of us.
Big Smile [:D]

searches are tricky
i try to start as general as possible.
so i think i used "1/35 daimler" and worked from there.
i figured w/ that, there would not be too much to shoose from
(unlike if you put in "1/35 Tiger" or something like that)

anyway, i hope you find one somewhere, Guy.
there may be others.
i only checked the one site.
have you looked on squadron.com or this hannants i hear so much about?
