Just saw some pics of that Sherman with the rocket tubes mounted on top and it looks like a rather interesting build... if it's available....err- in 1/35 scale that is...

Italeri....

(PS) I had this kit at one time. I never built the whole thing. I got tired to trying to match up all the tubes (molded in halves all the way across the top and bottom)

Verlinden has a conversion set in Resin... Not sure of the quality as I haven't ever layed hands on it.

The only kit I know of for sure is the old Monogram 1/32 "Screamin' Mimi."

Or was there a 1/35 italeri kit, too??
Hmmm....

Yes, besides the Monogram 1/32 scale one (which was an M4A1 75mm early), Italeri did one in 1/35. It was kit #288 and represented an M4A3 75mm late.

The base Italeri tank kit is the same kit as the "new" USMC M4 Sherman. It was released in 1996 (I bought one at the Ft. Leavenworth PX when I was stationed there). I believe that is the only time I ever saw it on the shelves, so it may be OOP.

I don't believe there are any Calliope's in production in any scale. Rather a bummer! Maybe DML or Tamiya will get on the stick on this one!

Hmmm, maybe we should put this one down when FSM does their "Most Wanted Kit" list this year!

Italeri's kit of the Calliope and Verlinden's conversion are both OOP at this time.

If you're interested in scratchbuilding there's an old issue of FSM that has 1/35 scale plans of the Calliope. I'll dig it up when I get home tonight. I don't imagine the rocket tubes would be very difficult; a little brass tubing in the right diameter... The hard part would be the linkage to the turret gun.
