Modern British Equipment Set NEEDED!
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 18, 2004 2:29 PM
Hi all, this is a question; I need pic's and so on of modern British equipment, for my AS90 build. Some of the Tamyia's US equipment set can work, like the tarps and the water jerry cans, but I need British weapons, ruck sacks, and so on. Any ideas?? Links to photos, and if there was any kits done, the names and numbers etc.

Thanks!

PS ARE YOU LISTENING TAMYIA????? DRAGON???

your best bet is to look at the Accurate Armour site. they sell AS 90 sets too but cost a little

You could look for the Dragon Models British Desert Rats figure sets. They have lots of bags and weapons in them that you could probably use.
Here they are:

Academy has some nice modern British water cans in their modern accessory set too. It is kit # 1383, Modern tank supplies. It includes modern US, British, and Israeli items. A great set. Here is a photo of the contents:

Don't think the water cans from the Tamiya set would work, US and British water cans are simmilar, but not the same.

Thanks for the information!!Bow [bow] above. Do you know of any bank that need robbed???? (just kidding!) as the sets from AA are great but expensive. Second, I'm not a fan of resin by in large, as it sometimes affects my alligeries. I usually try to work with either plastic or PE. Decals are great, though ....

The dragon sets were a thought, and now that I have seen the kit from Academy, I will buy it! (I had the kit in my hand the last time I was in my LHS, but at the last moment, I put it back, thinking that it would be mostly US items.) I have plans for the Warrior kit, and I may shift the Trumpeter's C2 to later this year and do the Warrior kit instead.

Question: Does anyone know if Academy sells it's sprues separate?? (From the Warrior kit) Thinking out loud here, I could maybe order a couple of sets of the sprue that has the accessories on it, for extra items to go around. Accademy, if you read these post, HOW ABOUT selling these sprues separately .....????? I would pay a small sum for these! Or better yet, MAKE a accessorie kit, with SA-80 rifles, modern British ruck and bedrolls, etc, and box it up like the above set. Maybe number it #1384??????

Again, thanks all for the replies, and keep them coming? What I need is also links to pictures of modern British kit, and people wearing/using it. I usually made a kit binder, for each kit I do, and I don't mind spending $50-$100 dollars on the pict's in the binder, over time. It is research that dosen't go bad on my bookshelf! How about it from those Brit's who model modern British Armour, and were in the service ... Lets see some of those pict's from your service!.

Thanks in advance again,
