TRUMPETER 1/16 T-34/76 SIGHTING!!!
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, June 19, 2004 1:08 AM
So I went down to the LHS and was looking in the armor section, watching out for different DML infantry kits and cheap DML/Italeri armor, when my eyes drifted to the top shelve! There was Trumpeter's 1/16 t-34/76 sitting on the top shelve with a sticker saying "NEW!" on the celphane! I thought you had to mail order or get it on line for such a fine product, but in my own LHS? Wow! Has anybody else had a "Sighting" of such a thing?

Saw it at two of our LHS's last week and there have been several posts from people who bought it.

A buddy of mine bought two of them off Ebay. He says that the detail is impeccable, both inside and out; even better than Tamiya. He plans to upgrade it to Full Option.

The hobby warehouse in Montreal (you simply cannot call it a "shop") had 3 of the '42s and 3 of the '43s. I think the guy said they were going for about $160.

My LHS has both of them in stock. However $135 is a bit steep for me. I think I will stick with the DML offerings.

Saw it at my LHS. Pretty big kit. Looked nice. Too bad I'm too tight to spend that much money.

Ausf,
I guess you weren't building when you were up here. It's called Udisco. They are huge. Their website claims 60 000 items in stock, and I can believe it. Not just kits though. Lots of RC and trains. Lots of tools. Still, they have a massive amount of kits in stock. Check out their websiteudisco.com

I may be wrong, but I don't think that is a Stryker. I think it's a LAV 25.
Oh, and sorry about posting twice when once would have done.

While I'm in no rush -- I've got too many tardy group builds to catch up on -- I can tell ya that building that little tiny 1/72 scale T34 made me keen to build a big one. A great big one! Maybe the -85.

This thing apparently has all kinds of inter detail. Is it set up so that it clips together or something, and then can be dissembled to look at the creamy nugat center?

I might build up the -85 as a Croatian T34/85 from the 1991 war. Weird, huh? T34s in battle in the 90s.

And on the aftermarket front, I just picked up Fine Molds' new 76mm aluminum barrel today (see other topic).
Only about $13 USD, too!
