red oxide primer color?

anyone know what the closest model master color to red oxide primer would be? i am trying to find this color but it doesnt seem to be in their line of colors. i need to paint a late war jadgtiger but cannot seen to make my mkind agree on what that color would look like. thanks.

I have heard of using Boxcar Red.... I think its a humbrol color. I like using Tamiya red brown with a drop or two of red. I have also used the krylon spray bomb version which works quite well. Do a google search about the German primer... see what you turn up...

If it were me I would use MM rust and maybe add a little red.

Tamiya has a color called hull red I just found it while on vacation. Havent used it yet.

I suggest you guys check out this site. Some very good info on Panzer colors. The article I linked to deals with the red oxide question.

I have used the Tamiya Hull Red.

Humbrol 70 is what I use. Looks pretty good to me.

i'll post this incase anyone cares. if you are trying to do a red oxide primer color than your best best with enamels is model master: 3 parts rust, 1 part british crimson. i used this last night on my jagdtiger and it worked marvelously. it is coming along very well.
