Guys, HLJ might be a cheap way to get the C2. I recently ordered one, as well as the new 1/72nd scale Tiger I with zimmerit, from them. The C2 was around $37.

I'd spend a little extra to get Tamiya quality. I mean, just look at this thing.

(edit: my crap image hosting service is down, as usual. So much for my spending extra for quality! Tongue [:P] I'll post pictures when it comes back up.)

J-Hulk, thanks for the different perspective.
However, here in Canada, most kits are priced in a fairly like range, and I mean that when comparing kits made in Asia and Europe. Of these, Tamiya is consistently the more expensive of the bunch.
$40 US is ridiculously expensive, no matter the quality. I got the Trumpeter Chally 2 AND Abrams M2A2, and then some for that price.
Dragon isn't much better. They're fairly pricey as well, although still cheaper than Tamiya.

Dragon over here was untill a few months ago £34.99, and now its gone down to £23.99
maybe Tamiya will do the same, but then maybe they wront
if peaple dont buy the kit, it will tell the importers THE HOBBY COMPANY LIMITED
to drop the prices

And the bandwagon rolls in!Wink [;)]

Jon, would you also agree that $50 USD is too expensive for an 1/72 Airfix C-130? That's what it costs here.

As I mentioned, I was just trying to give ya'll a little perspective. I didn't claim that Tamiya wasn't expensive in your countries, just that the situation is different everywhere.

I guess once we have a completely global economy with a single world currency, we can all pay the same price for Tamiya and Airfix respectively!

Tamiya is too expensive
£34.99 for the Challenger 2 and T55, when you can get Dragon kits for £23.99

OK, here's the part where J-Hulk chimes in to let ya'll know that the situation is quite the opposite here in Japan.
Like Dwight's situation, the Tamiya C2 goes for about $25 USD, but so do the Trumpeter C2s. Dragon kits are generally more expensive than Tamiya kits here.

And does anybody want to spend $60 USD for a Revell M60? Didn't think so!

Just thought I'd give ya'll a little perspective on the situation in another part of the world before the whole "Tamiya is too expensive" bandwagon gets rolling!

Yup. Quite pricey indeed. Sells here for about US$25 or about twice the price of a Dragon or Academy 1/35 armor kit.

£34.99 ($US 63) here in the UK. Think I'll stick with my Trumpeter OIF version (£14.99); the side armour and skirts mean that you won't be able to see the iffy road wheels. I've got plenty of stuff in part-used accessory sets and the spares box to address the other issues.

Chris.
