Dirt color in europe

Ok here is the question.I need to know what color the dirt was aroud in france or germany.Basiclly my dio is in a hedgerow setting and well I did a wash that turned my beuitful earth tone a redish brown of the burt sienna color. So can ya help.

I'm no expert, but most of the dirt I saw in Germany in the farm fields was black top soil. In the training areas it was a mixture of red clay and pulverized sand stone or something, almost a biege color. I think a fella could find red dirt/clay almost anywhere.
