Is anyone planning on doing a LAVIII (stryker) kit? I like to do Canadian models and the LAV is a new acquisiton for the Canadian Forces.

Hey,

thanks, i'll have a look. I think the Mr Toys down the road from me sells a LAV-25 Piranha, from pictures i have seen it looks pretty much the same as the ASLAV-25 - except with minor modifications.

Since you are an Aussie try going to either "Crazy Klints" or "The Wearhouse" they sometimes sell 1/48 kits that ar only $7 and you can get the LAV-25 and the LAV-AT aswell. They aren't great kits but for $7 you can't realy go too wrong. Hope this is of help to you.

Ah kools, thanks,

i'll ring up some hobby store and see if they have any...for some reason they have more models listed in store then on thier web sites. Also, no need to worry about the wheels, i found a company in Canada that sells resin wheels of the type i need :)

Thanks again

I built Italeri's version of the LAV Piranha, if that's what you are looking for. Unfortunately, the decals can't be used for current LAV's. IIRC, they depict a vehicle from the 1980's. Howerver it is a good kit and it didn't have any nasty surprises. Revell-Germany also released this vehicle, but they have current decals. In fact the Revell box shows an LAV serving in the desert. I have Esci's kits of the LAV command vehicle, but they are OOP and are not good kits. There is also a Hammerhead version of the LAV, but I don't remember who does this kit. Hope this helps.

LAV-25

Hey,

I have been looking around many hobby stores (on the net) and so far haven't found any kits of the LAV-25 Recon vehicle. Are there any kits of this vehicle? All i can find is LAV Mortar carriers.

Also, The Tires found on ASLAV-25 (australias version of the LAV-25) have wider tires and thicker tread. Is it possible in any way to scratch build a tire?

Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
