Ok I'll shoot you a mail when I know how much track I have left.
Don't know how much shipping will be from Denmark to Canada but I'll look into it. Smile [:)]

If I could get the ones you won't use, it'd be absolutely amazing. Send me a mail to zzoran!@sears.ca (work) and zzoranovic@yahoo.com (home) whenever you want, with price, and price of shipping, and anything else you'll need.

Oh you meant the width where the wheels will be sitting, Ok. The width of the Trumpeter tracks at the top of the tracks is only 44.5 mm so that is even better.

No I have no idea where you can get a set of Trumpeter tracks. I can only offer you to mail you those that I wont use from my own kit. Im only making a strait section so I will have some left, not sure how much yet.

45.9 mm sounds close to what I measured, but I can't remember. I'll double check at home tonight, and let you know. I actually wanted to see whether I could order the whole track section of the Leopold kit, as it comes with the cross-road section, and would work out very well for me.

Ok I took my digital calliper and the width of the Trumpeter tracks from the insides of the tracks is 45.9 mm or 1.807 inches. How much track do you need, there is alot in the Trumpeter kit, and I wont use all of mine. Also you should think about making some new ballast ( The gravel under the tracks ) the kit ballast is to ugly. Im making new ballast from granit, about 3.5 mm in diameter.

Thanks a lot for the help guys.

Jesse, you're right, the Trump and Dragon Leopolds are incompatible trackwise. Kinda strange, don't you think.

Bill, thanks for the link. I think this'll prove very useufl, as ultimately, it's cheaper for me to build it from scratch than it is to buy it, as I need around 5 feet of it, so this'll definitely be a better option I think.
So, to bother you all some more, please swamp me with ANY WWII railroad links, sites, pics, etc.
I need to gather as many references during the summer months, as I plan to start building a fairly large dio in September/October.
Thanks again all!!!

I heard that the Gun from the Dragon kit won't fit on the Trumpeteer kit and vice versa. Also, I've heard of a modeler using G scale track that was hand laid. It looked good but it would take alot of work.

phroosh,
there are definitely separate pieces available from a number of suppliers,
but depending on how much of the stuff he needs, you could run up
a nasty bill!

Zok,
this page has some info on German rail stuff:
http://www.feldgrau.com/dreichsbahn.html
it lists the guage as 1435 mm,
which would be 41mm in 1/35.
but i am not certain that is from center to center,
or inside edge to inside edge.

Frosty is a rail-roader, perhaps she knows how it is measured.

Thanks for the info Bill. I think that you're right, and ultimately I may end up having to scratch-build a lot of it.
On that note, can anyone tell me the width of the tracks on the Trumpeter model, from the insides of the two rails?

Zokissima,
go to www.greatmodels.com
pick search from the left menu, and enter:
1/35 railroad track
i got a bunch of hits for pieces.
the problem is, i do not know if they are standard German width or what.
you may have to scratchbuild some pieces to keep it economical.
i saw there was one listed as vacu-formed.
that or casting might be a way to go.
i don't think there is a hobby train size similar to 1/35
but i could be wrong.

but start by checking out the handful they have there.
good luck.

I was curious as to whether the kits of railcars, both the flatbed and armoured car, would fit into the track sections offered in the Trumpeter Leopold kit?
Further, where would I be able to find tracks that do fit these? I need a fair length, much more than provided in the Dragon kits, as I'm going to be building quite a large dio.
Any help is appreciated.
