Well, this past Thursday, I came down with a pretty bad headcold.
While waiting for the medication to take affect while I Biltzed this Cold with everything I could use to kill it, I decided to do a little work on my current projects in Progress.
I started on my Ace 1/72 scale Sa 13 Gopher Mobile SAM system by painting the camouflage pattern on it, preperatory to applying the clearcoat and decals. Lo and behold, the Launch tube assembly is tilted! So, in my early stages of drug-induced mindlessness, I tried to straighten it. The result was that the two holed tabs that held the missile assembly to the launch arms both broke!
The arrows above show where the tabs used to be, (the two white lines) and the brass tube that went through them. That tube is superglued in, so I don't know just how I'm going to repair this. I'll think of something....
That being said, I set aside the Gopher and moved on to other things, since the drugs still hadn't taken enough affect yet.
I did a little more work on my Matchbox 1/72 scale Monty's Scout Car, installing the last pieces on the car:
Here it is after I painted it overall Olive Drab:
The blade is a standard X-acto No. 11 Blade shown for size comparison. She's a little one she is! She is now clearcoated and waiting for decals, which will be applied as soon as I can find them!
I also managed to get some more of the undercarriage of my Revell/Germany 1/72 scale Spahpanzer Luchs done. One more wheel assembly done; one more to go!
Here is where I painted the linkages and suspension in metallic grey, just for something to do.
And that is what I did while sick! Surprisingly, I didn't do any other injury to myeslf at all, despite having the X-acto roll off the desk twice as often as normal!
