Still, it was more fun than watching the returns from our federal elections!

I have done them all myself... like when I was building my Panther I was in the middle of painting....(true story) and I was like " I could have sworn I put both fenders......OOWWWUUUCHHH!!!!" Though I drew blood from stepping barefooted on the pointy edges up fender on the floor, the fender ultimately lost the battle... WHICH is why in all the inprogress shots from the GB it has both front fenders but ended up with only one!

And who hasn't glued some part of there body to a model.. I remember working on my Famo and glueing the hood in place when I felt an intense burning sensation on my right forefinger... Well I had poured super glue under the hood and it promptly ran through a crack and glued my ginger to the undeside of the wheel well...

Well I have only use ca once since my return to modelling. I took 2 flat toothpicks and sanded them even and glued them side to side for a home-made Zim tool. I had em together and put a small drop at the top. It ran like greased lightning, faster then I could realize down the seam and straight to my finger....not even sure it touched the 2 toothpicks. I almost have all the toothpick off my finger now.

Renarts does this mean I know the secret handshake???

LOL, someone had a great statement about PE once, but I forget who. It went something like this: “I could have saved myself two hours by just flinging parts across the room, gluing my right hand to my forehead and my left hand to my desk.” Or something to that affect. It still cracks me up.Laugh [(-D]

One time I was holding a part with my left hand, grabbed the CA bottle with my right hand and attempted to take off the lid with my teeth. I instantly realized that somehow there was glue on the cap. I grabbed the cap from my lips taking two layers of skin with it. My right hand was now glued to the cap, so putting down the piece that I had in my left hand I grabbed the cap out of my right hand. The end result: I had my lips glued together, my right index finger glued to my right thumb, and my left hand was glued to the cap.Dunce [D)]Dunce [D)]Black Eye [B)] If anyone can beat that for stupidity I will be surprised.

Give me time. I'm still working on it.

Hysterical, Buff ! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

To add to your list:
Don't keep it too close to where you put down your dremel.

Did that - it caught the PE and WOW ! It was like a weapon out of Mad Max !

- it had cut the table, scattered everything on it , scared the crap out of me with that WAP! WAP! WAP! and wizzed by within inches of the dog as it came off.

I've noticed that superglue is amazing at instantly bonding things to other things, with the sole exception of the one thing you actually want instantly bonded to another thing.

WE all forgot Murphy's law applies to photoetch brass parts too, as follows
(1)PE parts will always stick to a set of tweezers before your model
(2)PE parts will always stick to your fingertips , rather than your model
(3) Three strikes and your out applies to PE folding , the part will almost always break after 2 fold mistakes much less 3
(4)tweezers are your best and worst enemy when applying a nicely folded part that took you 2 hours to complete , they are notorious for launching the piece into oblivion , or the twilight zone as we all call it ! That is until 3 0r 4 am when you plant it firmly into your foot while going to the bathroom in bare feet , then it sticks firmly in place !
(5)The military should begin to paint all tanks PE brass , as to me it seems to blend into any background , be it rug , wooden floor , tabletop , pants , now you would think something as gaudy as brass would stand out like a sore thumb , but this never seems to be the case here ! I think it would also make a good eye test for the dept of motor vehicles , ( none of us would pass this test , and we would solve the current oil crisis due to the fact that we would all fail our eye exam !) It may actually make a modelers" Wheres Waldo" test too ! Wheres the PE piece we could call it . HMMMMMMMMMM ponder the thought ? Big Smile [:D]

Be surprised, Erick, be very surprised...

When I was stationed in Germany, one of the guys daughters (college girl!!) came over for a summer visit. While there, she got up one morning, went into sink, popped in her hard contacts, tilted her head back and squirted wetting solution into both eyes. You guessed it, it was thin ca she put in her eyes! (Don't ask me why ca was by the sink!) Her eye lids promply glued shut with the ca covered contacts IN HER EYES!! They took her to the docs, needless to say. They got her eyes open, somehow, and found that the contacts had cracked into pieces from the ca. All were removed safely and in the end, no harm was done. They said that the contacts actually saved her eyes as the ca would have blinded her.

True story.

Beat that!!

Another trick ,(from my friend Kenneth ) is to anneal, ......Translation heat the brass to red with lighter, torch, stove ,etc it gives you maybe one bend more than you would normally have , its not that pretty before painting , but who cares after !

OK, you're not going to believe this but....One of my good buddies is a wood working fanatic. One day he observed my frustration when using tweezers to manipulate my PE stuff. He felt sorry for me and made me a custom set of tweezers out of some old clothespins. He actually carved /turned the clothes pin ends down to tweezer ends! Since CA doesn't bond as well to wood as metal or plastic, These things work GREAT! I can slop all the CA I want ,and those tiny parts stick to the model (and sometimes me) before they bond to the wooden tweezers. Go Figure!

Best clamps I have found so far ,..... flyfishing hackle pliers ! CA Glue doesn't adhere too well to them either , although it does a bit , BUT solder does not at ALL! you can order them or buy them at any flyfishing supply store .

I think this post got alittle off the track. Buff posted about things not to do and we all gave a story about things we DID do with it.

Here's the beginning of a new list

Do not .................use the little pieces to clean your ears with
Do not..................use it as floss to clean between your teeth
Do not..................cut it into little pieces and wear it like jewelry
Do not..................fling it across the room like "kung fu" stars
Do not..................use it to butter you toast

just to name a few
