Looks good. The camo is just fine. Just same comment on the tracks. They should sag and rest on the upper portion of the road wheels. But hey if these are vinyl one-piece tracks, don't bother. Just use individual track links on your next Tiger.

Very nice finish Dave. I've done relatively few German WWII pieces, and nothing in desert scheme yet, so if my first ends up half as good as yours, I'll be happy.
From experience though, one of the best ways to lighten a model is a highlighting drybrush. Either way, very nice build.

I guess we are all a little too self-critical, we know all the defects cos we
built the kit, i just tried to stick to the basics using sharp knife and emery paper
to remove plastic burrs etc, not too much glue of course, and get as many ideas, hints off the web, there is so much info on the web, is overwhelming at times

plus, like previously said, dont get too hung up on it being 100% colour scheme
correct, at the end of day is your model & your choice,

I think it looks good, a little detailing like previous ideas and it will look great. I am in the early stages of my 1st tank build and I hope it looks as good as yours when I'm done

i am lacking confidence cos new to builds, esp regard to painting.

i will take your advice and try dry brushing to lighten up model,
plus take your point with wheels sitting on tracks. I found the wheels real
tricky, but its a Tiger1 & that has to be expected I guess

As long as you have learnt some skills to take on to your next build, I'd stay satisfied. Research is another skill the same as painting or gluing, so you've learnt some stuff there too. Make minor alterations by all means, (I agree with Ausf about the drybrushing) but I wouldn't get bogged down in whether or not it is 100% accurate.
Be proud of it, and learn from it too.

Nice build. If you want to lightened it up, this is where most would dry brush to highlight and simulate sun bleaching.
You could also lightly spray some color like Buff on the sides and tracks to simulate dust.
Now for nitpicking...
The cable on the side was used for reinstalling the tracks. While sometimes the crew would overspray them while painting camo or whitewash, they would usually be a dirty metal.
The same for the heavy tow cables on the deck.
Also, the tracks should sit on top of the roadwheels like in your signature pic.
