Very nice! especially for a first armor. Only thing I can add is maybe a little mud becuase the weather around D-Day was not that perfect. And some dry brushing of the tracks and also the spare tracks would be good. Overall nice build!
after building armor and aircraft, what would you say you like better?

Top rate job for a first armour kit. Looks like you gave it a dirty wash already, but maybe a little drybrushing on the hull, as well the tracks as rebel said, to bring out some detail like bolts, hinges etc, would also be nice. Thanks for showing us.

First build? Extremely well done job. Only suggestion I may make is to not leave the tracks unpainted.

You've already gotten some good tips here, so I'll add no more.

Hey there, Ghetto dude

Looks fine to me, but I'll go along with the other guys, it could do with just a wee bit more 'dirtying-down'.

Keep 'em coming.

Outstanding build for a fifth or sixth tank...let alone a first time effort. You've already received some excellent advice. I would only add that you might want to paint the rubber on the upper return rollers, but that's not a biggie. Excellent camo work!

Enjoy your modeling...

thanks guys.
rebal- while i love aircraft i did find myself putting off plane projects to work on this

i would like to add some mud but i have never done any. will probably pratice a little before i try it. i did paint the tracks but with a grime color, what color should i use. i thought i was dirty enough, but i guess building nothing but planes will do that to a person.

ghettochild

I don't know if I could answer this but....any good dirt or mud color will do. tan, dark brown, medium, whatever. one good idea is that when you put on mud or dirt weathering, use the lighter shades of your palette to simulate dust or dried mud, and the darker shades for more resent deposits of dirt.

Excellent first darkside project Ghetto!! You did a great job and a great subject too Wink [;)]. Just remember, the dirtiest A/C you build is one of the cleanist armor pieces you'll see!! Big Smile [:D]

good job, I agree. Some drybrushing on the tracks and MG would put it over the top. Good luck on future builds

I usually start with a black color or similar dark color on the tracks then a drybrush with a metalic color ,silver,etc.. I then add a rusty color and finish up with some rusty pastels, as you can imagine tracks are almost never stay black.
