Hey Todd,
The SS used various camoflage schemes, depending on the theatre, and in most late war cases, the availability of paint.
Most post 1943 vehicles came from the factory in a Tan-ish yellow colour, then in the feild the crew would add the green and a sort of red/browncolour.
Forgive me for not having the colours on hand, but you could find the details in a series of books called Panzer colours.
They have some really good examples of this method.
The type Piwi is talking about is the 'ambush' scheme, and i believe this was used in 1944 by some ss units (anyone correct me if im mistaken), i believe it consisited of the red/brown and green disruptive pattern, then the empty red/brown areas had tan spots, this was ideal for hiding in forests as the tan spots represented the dots of daylight that would shine through the forest canopy. i have seen this on versions of the king tiger and panthers.
Hope this has been of some help!!!
regards and have fun
