There were no published patterns until late in the war and even then they weren't really enforced. Crews were pretty much left to their own for camo painting. If you are doing a Normandy Tiger keep in mind that if the crew recently painted the vehicle it'd have a lot of green and not much red brown, just cause of the season. Just give it a go and see how it looks. I think the freedom in painting German tanks from the period is one of the big attractions to them.

When the Crews were sent two cans of paint one being red brown the other a dark green with their vehicles they were given permission to paint the vehicles according to their surroundings. You will never find a picture of any two paint schemes exactly the same. Here is a website I found helpful for painting German armor for accuracy, enjoy.

I am up to the painting stage of a Tiger 1 build. I have base coated in dunkelgelb and now need further info. I have looked at various completed models and internet reference sites, but can not find 2 the same. I have tried the FSM search but it is down for maintenance.
My Tiger is a mid production, operating in Normandy in 1944. I have also applied Zimmeritt. The Academy instructions on painting are next to useless, I am using Humbrol enamels for the base coat, forest green and German camo brown. I have sprayed the base but cannot achieve fine lines for the camo without overspray so I will be brush painting.
Is the camo pattern lines, blobs, patterns, etc.
Any help apreciated
