Here's a work-in-progress shot of the Char B, with the first two camo colours painted:

And another French tank I'm working on, kit-built in this case (the Heller 1/35 H.39)
The basic painting is completed, it needs tools/stowage adding, detail painting, weathering
and decals.

Thanks for the link to the website, that is just the sort of colour
scheme I'm looking for.
The book looks very good as well, but it's a bit out of my price range!

By far the best solution availlable:

By Histoire & Collections :

Chars B au combat - Hommes et matériels du 15ème BCC by S. Bonnaud and François Vauvillier . The book is right here with me. May I tell you that you can find inside color plates of any B1 you can imagine ( must have more than 100 profiles ) The majority of the plates is complemented with at least one wartime picture. Also focus on insignia, units, badges, uniforms, operations. Whatever you can imagine this book has.

I found it at Amazon France right here:

http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/2913903428/qid%3D1089580019/402-2233511-9132913

Note that the book is in French only. No English translation was made in this volume, perheaps because the subject is french.

Mon Français est, je pense, trén bon. Mon anglais n'est pas la meme chose il'y a beaucoup d'erreures dans mon gramatique saxonique, so if French is understandable for you, go for it, it's a terrific acquisition to your library. If not, personally sometimes I don't care. I have here too many Model Art and AJ Press books and I can't understand a single word of Japanese and Polish. Just bought them for their pictorial content.

Looking for info on Char B1.bis colour schemes
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, July 11, 2004 3:02 PM
Last year I scratchbuilt a 1/35 Char B1.bis (French WW2 heavy tank) but never got
round to painting and finishing it as I couldn't find a decent paint scheme reference!
I couldn't find anything on the Internet, and the only colour picture I have in my
library is a very uninspired muddy green/grey scheme with no unit markings or numbering.
I'd ideally like to paint it as a 3-colour camo (sand, brown and green) scheme.

Does anyone know of any useful references for the Char B1 on the Internet? Failing that,
are there any books with decent colour pictures of this tank?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
