Italeri M-36-B1gun?
Posted by Panther 44 on Sunday, July 11, 2004 3:23 PM
Hello All,
Have a question about the Italeri M-36-B1 gun. This gun has no breech block,.
so are there any suggestions about a fix, other than scratch building?
Would it be possible to take the breech block from another kit's gun and use it.
Perhaps from an M-46 or M-47?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

This really isn't going to be any help to you, but I read a step by step interior build on this kit a few months ago and it was very good. Problem is I can't remember/find where I saw it. I thought it was in FSM, but I've gone through five years of them and it's not there. I do know the author, (I think it was Steve Zaloga) scratch built most of the stuff he put in it. Sorry to be so lame.

the m36b1 used the same 90mm as the m36.so if you have one you can cannabalize or refer to, that might get you there.good luck

Good idea. Academy has the M-36 Jackson which seems to be a good choice as reference for this one as it has full interiors and the gun is detailed.

why not buy an Academy M36,use the turret on your Italeri M36B1 and then convert the M36 hull to an M35 prime mover, that's what I'm looking at but using the Italeri M4A3 (ex US marines) Sherman Hull as the donor hull for the M36B1.Cool [8D]

Hi Pete,
I'm not one of those who takes several different kits to make one. Please understand, I'm not being critical, I just try and build them as they come from the box and not put too much else into it.
I thought some would have an idea whether or not a breech block from another 90mm gun could be added on.
Thanks to the rest of you for the ideas.
Regards,
Joe
