Sherman Firefly VC Progress Pics
Posted by Dwight Ta-ala on Sunday, July 11, 2004 9:52 PM
Well, I have not completed it yet and progress was quite slow. Anyway, here are some pics. Not much here though...Wink [;)]

Dragon's instructions are a bit erroneous often refering to parts that are not available. And the availability of lots of unused parts only complicates it.

Anyway...she still looks like a Sherman to me...Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

BTW a dio is in the works for this.

This reminds me that today I received an e-mail from somebody saying that "The Sherman won the war. And it is second to none."

Sounds like a good topic for a debate...He-he-he.

Oooooops.Tongue [:P]

Thanks for the comments guys.

Roy, I airbrush my models except for the small details which I hand-paint.

Looks good, Dwight Thumbs Up [tup],

Great job. Lots of details on that kit. They give you so many extra pieces on those kits - it's tough to figure out which ones to use.

Be glad to see the finished pictures tomorrow. ( you usually crank theses out pretty fast once you get to'em)

Looking good

Looks good Dwight. The nicest looking Sherman by far, the Firefly. Wouldn't mind having one in my collection. Looking forward to more pics.

Looking great Dwight. Another Masterpiece in the making. As to the Sherman winning the war, one guess who said that. I'll just keep the pot stirrer in the cupboard.

Looking clean so far Dwight. I am doing the same kit well last years modelCool [8D] But its on hold cause I personally cant stand the tracks. How are yours? Nice little injector marks right above the little raised dot on the links? Oh well I guess I will breakdown andBanged Head [banghead] do them before the do date on the GB.Tongue [:P]

Thundergod: You are right about the tracks. Well would you believe that my first armor kit was Dragon's M4A4 with indy tracks? Tool me quite a while doing the tracks.Big Smile [:D]

Buff: Would be happy to see yours. Thanks.

Pete: I think your guess is correct.Big Smile [:D]. But masterpiece? Nah. I would be happy to just see it done. OOB as usual.

J-hulk: I'll keep you posted with (as you have always said) more posts. LOL.

Erush: Well..I had problems with the LONG gun. It is so skinny that it didn't look straight.Wink [;)]

zokissima: Actually it is a secret.Big Smile [:D]. Nah...just the Firefly passing a British soldier burying a fallen comrade. Oops.

Proosh: You are right about that. Go get one already.

Jim: Maybe I could use these extras on other sherman kits later. I could have shown you the painted tank without the tracks but I made a major boo-boo on the paint mixture. The tank looks like a vegetable.Big Smile [:D]. I'll repaint it later this evening.

fieldgrau23: Thanks, I am looking at probably 5 to 7 more days.

your firefly is looking good, although if you're like me on dml armor, you got to wonder if it's because of the instructions or in spite of them.
as for the subject of the sherman, let me point out that heroes, soldiers and historians say the same thing: it's not the rifle, but the man behind it.
