Nope, I'll just resize them if they are too big.

Good job John. I like the base, simple but effective and doesn't distract from your 105. I wish I had bought that. I waited for the AFV Pak 40, and still haven't seen it.

John, I'm sorry, I used the name on your hotmail account. I'll fix it. It did seem an odd spelling, between us Irishmen.

Guys, looking forward to seeing the pics. Dwight, I appreciate your contribution. I'll be putting those pics of your superb 88 on the site tonight. I'm still putting dry transfers on my truck, then I have to weather it and the gun. [:0]

Sorry about the mix up, Larry. I was renaming some pics and sent you the wrong ones. I just emailed you the close up pics of the gun.

Thanks.

Larry:

My stuff is in the mail -- had a bit of a computer problem that slowed me down.
And, oh yeah, I spent a couple nights just cleaning up the work area ....

Certainly enjoyed this ....

John, thanks for the pics. I finally pinned down a unit that used the Mack NO as its prime mover other than the 995th FA -- they had the white edges on their front bumpers, as well as the star with a circle, and I wanted something a little less distinctive -- a boilerplate Mack if you will.

The 997 FA also used the Mack NO, so I'm going with them. They came in through Normandy in the end of June with the 1st Army. In fact, I think it was quite common for 155 and 8" battalions to use the Mack as their prime mover, but, sadly, this kind of information is fading as the veterans die.

I read one account of A Battery blowing the crap out of a pesky battery of 88's, so A battery it is. My bumper code will read, I think:

1A - 997F A4

I have this virtually done, in fact. I just need to put six more little letters on, and the rear registration code, which I forgot all about, and I'm done with the dr transfers. Then the weathering can begin.

Larry:

Can't wait to see your finished product; suspense is killing me.

I actually got my HST and the TM out today, and may start it. I got some Friul T-49 tracks to replace those in the kit; I've never used Friul before.

Larry & company,
iam working to wrap up my builds, and i ran into a question:
the crewmen on my Pak carry the classic German canteen,
gas mask can & what looks like a pouch for a gas 'sheet' or poncho.
i have affixed the 'can' to the 'cord' that goes over the shoulder & down the back.
i put the pouch on the belt near right hip/kidney.
where does the canteen go?
the pics i have are pretty sparse,
and make it look like it is on top of (or outside) the pouch.
how did the canteen attach to the soldier or uniform?

believe it or not, i just have to hang the canteens
and wash the crew and that is it for the Pak.
(on the Quad i need to finish painting the driver, then weather the vehicle.
gun & limber are done)

Larry & Towed gun gang,
i have emailed in pics of the Pak.
dio base is not finished, but the gun & crew are, so i am putting in for my badge!
:-)

Quad just needs a bit of touch up as the camera revealed what the eye had missed.
then some more dust and that is that.

sorry for the delays!
i would be feeling very tardy, but i think there are a few others behind!
:-)

great fun! thanks for having me.
here is the brave crew drawing a bead on the advancing hordes:

for more, visit the GB site once the pics are up!

Thanks guys!Blush [:I]
I sent a bunch of pics to Larry, so you will be able to see more there once
they are up.
no pressure, Larry - it's not like i didn't finish a month late! Big Smile [:D]

i think the crew may need a flat coat.
they seemed a bit shiny in the sun, despite the flat paint on them.
if my replacement AB arrives, i will give them a coat.

i am just glad to be finished.
hoping to wrap up the Quad tonight.
then i will put up a 'teaser' pic of that too.
Larry - i see the headlights are not done on the Quad either!
so i guess you should save the pic of the front and i will send a replacement.
