Trumpeteer LCT-3 Not really a tank but in our intrest...

I picked up one of these new kits the other day at the NSLHS, (mad snatch and grab is more like it) Big Smile [:D] Anyway.... When I got home I cracked the box and took a peek. I was pleased with what I found... A 1 piece hull and details all around. The ramp is quite well done. PE gun supports and shields are included. There are suprisingly few parts... This would make a nice weekend build but painting is gonna be involved due to the frequent abuse these rigs took rubbing against other ships. I REALLY want to build it ASAP but don't have the time, I just though I'd throw in my 2 cents about the kit.

Well worth the 60 bucks!

The diorama ideas are churning no doubt! Hmmm !

I am soooooo jealous! Between this kit, the new -46 and the DUKW, I am torn on which to get first! I want one of these just to see what I can load onto it, though I've heard the idea of making it a Vietnam era gunboat/monitor floated around too. Still, this is one of those kits that I'll have to get eventually. Keep the info coming!
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Ya know I saw the LCM-3 looking me right in the eyeballs the other day when I picked up my h46 phfrog! I was so glassy eyed about getting the chopper, I forgot about the landing craft. I did manage to throw in a M51 Sherman, and a M1A1 tank plus a fist full of misc paint as my wife tryed desparately too remove me from the local hobby shop. Heck I don't think I even remember the 30min. drive home. I'll be ok though, got it all stashed away. semper fi, mike

The Monitors were based on a later version of the LCM (6 or 8) which were longer. You would have to stretch the kit and then with all the other work required, would probably be just as easy to scratch it.

Think of the shelf space you'll save by storing your DUKW in the LCT!
