I-beam,

That's pretty awesome. I've never built anything from scratch before; just some detail items. I can't even image where to begin. I saw pics of a guy who scratchbuilt the Dora. What an untaken that must of been.

My K5 is almost done. I'm waiting on the dry transfers for the flat cars to arrive from Archer. I did the faded panel technique with my airbrush. It was the first time I tried it and I think it came out ok. With a model that big, it needed some visual depth.

I'm hoping to put some pics on the web if I can figure out how to do it.

Good building,
Jesse

Good timing. I remember seeing your 1/35 K5 pictures Jesse, how is your progress on that?

My K5 is close to ready for the paintshop and decals. I have to make my own decals because mine is 90% scratchbuilt and I have been debating for some time about putting "Leopold" on it or not. The "Leopold" markings are a major spotting feature for people not real familiar with the K5 railgun, IMO.

Please click here to check out the progress on my K5 even with it's deficiencies I welcome suggestions. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make very very small latches and hinges for the miscellaneous access panels.

Jesse, there is actually another photo of "leopold" that I have seen. If I can remember where it is, I'll post it.

Hi all,

As some of you might know by now, I really like the K5 and I've done alot of research on it (including contacting Aberdeen). One question have had a hard time answering is "Was the logo 'Leopold' stenciled on the side of the gun when it was in combat at Anzio?" Most people I've talked to say 'no' because there is no photographic evidence. Well, guess what I just found. Here it is:

The photo is taken by US Army soldiers after the capture of the gun at Anzio. The original web page is:

Finally, I feel complete.

If anyone has any quesitons concerning the K5, feel free to ask.

Jesse
