Ah, perhaps I misunderstood.
Thought you thought Tamiya's kit was a Challenger II!

If you are doing a C I, Tamiya makes 2 versions, one having the thicker side armor. Not sure about the gun differences.

There are some good shots on www.reuters.com. In the upper right corner change from news to photos, and search for "british tanks".

Well, the Tamiya kit is a Challenger I, which, though quite similar to the Challenger II, is a different vehicle.
The only kit available is Trumpeter's C II, which I have and can recommend.

I was recently looking at a link provided in one of these threads... it was the Ministry of Defence link, I believe. There were several images of the Challenger 2 tank, and this got me motivated to go to my collection and dig out the "old" Tamiya Challenger kit. It doesn't seem to be too bad, but the gun looks wrong, or at least needs a bore evacuator, and the kit doesn't have the reactive armor skirting or frontal armor.

Are there any aftermarket kits available for this conversion? What about sites that show a little more detail than the MOD photos? This looks like a good kit. I'm glad I picked it up years ago and just put it away.
