Dragon Panzer III M/N decals
Posted by JWest21 on Sunday, July 18, 2004 7:40 PM
Anyone have a spare set they didn't use? My 3 year old decided to "help" me when I was out and put my set in the toilet to get them wet. Unfortunately, as 3 years olds do, she got distracted and left them in there and, well, lets just say they are shot.

I've got some PzKpfw III decals I can spare, but they are not from the DML kit.

What Aus is it and what kind of numers? I have the M version completely built up and painted- just waiting for the decals. The ones I lost were red with white outlines of 401 and 421 and they were from the Totenkopf division at Kursk

Not being a German armor expert, the decal sheet I have is by Third Group #35-011 PzKpfw III (#2) Ausf. M and (F1) Flammpanzer. I have not decided which scheme to use, but the decal sheet makes the following vehicles:
Black 401 3.SS Panzergrenadier "Totenkopf" during Operation "Zitadelle"

Red or Black 421 3.SS PzGren "Totenkopf" (but also states it could be from 15.PzRgt/11.PzDiv at Kursk due to conflicting references).

Does a couple other vehicles, like an artillery command vehicle and a flammpanzer.

I have a Panzer III ausf H decal sheet from Dragon. The sheet has white numerals (711)and black numerals with white outline(1, 531), 1 (bad) Afrika Korps decal and one 1st Pz. Div and one 3rd Pz. Div. I have a decal sheet from the ICM Panzer II Luchs, it has white numerals(101), black numerals(41), red numerals with white outline(201) and insignias for the 3rd Pz. Div, 4th Pz. Div and 3rd SS Pz. Div-Totenkopf. I see by your profile you're in PA, so am I, where in PA? I might be able to help.

Well, since you aren't sure what scheme you are doing, do you remember where you got them or do you know of a place online that might have them? I am thinking that the Red 421 might be the same one from the Dragon kit....Dunkelgelb with Olivgrun spots trimmed in rotbraun on the Schurzen? I might try to find that someplace. Thanks for the help!

Tigerii- The Luchs decals might work. The one I wanted was a red 421 from Totenkopf. I am in Butler (about 45 mnutes north of Pittsburgh). If you aren't using the decals, do you want anything for them?

Jwest21,
I have a decal sheet from a Tamiya Mk.III ausf M/N that I didn't use. It has red and white numerals (231 and 10). I dont have the instruction sheet so I don't know what theater of operations these markings are for.

I'm in East Stroudsburg, I used some of the decals when I built my Luchs, but the rest are in excellent condition, since I keep them in an enclosed plastic bag after I use them in case I need them. I will gladly send them to you if they can help out with your tank. Just one condition. Make sure you post here so we can see how it came out. Just let me know what u want me to do.

TigerII and boybuddho,
I appreciate the help. I think between the two, I should find what I need. I can send you a self addressed stamped envelope, if you want. E-mail me at jason@ronwestagency.com and I will get you the address. Thanks so much- I owe you one.
