Haven't built that kit but are you referring to a weld seam in that area that you lost because of the sanding? If so, I've heard of people using a slow spinning drill bit or similar tool to recreate the look but would recommend trying it out on spare plastic first to see if it's what you want.

I am building that kit too, and I didn't have any problem with the turret. My problems were mostly with the transmission housing. Where on the bottom of the turret exactly? There are several of us just finishing up this kit, and Shermanfreak who knows everthing there is to know about the Sherman, so help is on the way.

ilikespageti,

Are you talking about the cast steel rough texture of the turret? Well, you can as wbill76 suggested LIGHTLY bounce the tip of a drill randomly about 30 degrees angle to the turret surface or press a very rough sand paper against it.

I have tried both but I suggest you try it on a piece of plastic scrap to see if you like the result or not before doing it on the model.

Good luck.

You might want to look up the thread Dwight did a couple of weeks ago about his Firefly. The title was something about posting pics of his Firefly. We got into a bit of a discussion about some of the fobiles of this kit. I posted one last week on my (nearly) completed Firefly and posted a bit about some of the problems I had with the running gear. I'll try and find the links and post them here.

Here's Dwight's:

And, here's mine:

I hope they help! Good luck with it.
