Tamiya Tiger I Kit#3311 1/25
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, July 30, 2004 6:52 PM
Hi!
I have just gotten a Tamiya Tiger I tank kit in 1/25 scale. It's kit #3311. I need instructions for this. It seems that this is a strange kit...because of it's kit number? Any ideas on this?

Just click to look at the pix if you wish!

Many thanks! Ted

This is a real "oldie",I believe first released abt. 1970.I built 1 some
time ago,& its an easy job altho the track link assembly will make
your fingers ache after snapping em all together. the kits accuracy
is dated esp. compared to Tamiyas 1:35&1:16 items but it does
"look good"when done. Try Tamiya U.S.A. via phone re. instructions.

I bought one after Desert Storm in 1991. I never got around to building it, although I may have started it. I will look to see if I can locate it easily and dig out the directions. The directions were closer to a pamphlet than normal sheet instructions.

I love that old kit!
I've built two of 'em, one about 25 years ago, and another 6 years ago (kit N0. 30611).

Here's a couple pix of the more recent build:

As mentioned before, it came out around 1970 (October 1969), so it does have its fare share of inaccuracies, but that didn't stop me from having a great time with this kit.

I actually have three sets of instructions for it (two in English and one in Japanese) but they are all in storage back in the States.
Sorry!

Hey Ted,

I have this kit. My box top looks slightly different but the kit number is 3311**3800. I only put the tracks to together so far. I got it back in the 80's. I have instructions but only in Japanese. I can scan them in for you on Monday if your interested. Let me know.

Actually if anyone has the english version that would be nice to have.

Brian, any chance you might be visiting the states. Nice build by the way I hope my can look half as good.Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for the kind words, Joe!

I may be visiting my family this Christmas this year (job willing), and if I do, I'll bring the English intructions back with me.

Inaccuracies or not, you did an awsome job on the build Brian.

With the size of this kit, it should be easy to scratchbuild or correct any sever anomolies. Good luck with it and keep us posted.
