Check this site: a fantastic resource for WWI modelers. It includes info on camouflage schemes of all belligerents...

British Mark IV "Male" Colors

Calling landship fans,

Just bought Emhar's 1/35 Mark IV Male, and I'm looking forward to putting it together after I'm done desertizing my Abrams.

I can't find much for good color references. The directions say "There is debate about the colour used to paint these tanks." I was wondering if anybody knows of any good reference books and/or websites. I was hoping to camoflauge it, but the directions say that they probably used solid colors. German markings are available, but I'd like to keep it an english tank. I already have German armor well represented on my shelf.

Any insight would be appreciated,
Chris
