Hey Trevor,

Great job. I like how you did the penetration holes, too. Hope to see your diorama soon. I am also contemplating on doing something burning with fire smoke and all. I figured...it must be really difficult but it would really look great with such effects.

ausf, lol, not Great Adventure even thou my house could pass for a zoo some times.

glweeks, To Hell and Back is a good book I read it a couple of years ago. It helped me out on this build.

tigerman, I've been promising these pictures to M1Abramsrules for a long time. since I don't own a digital camara, I had to barrow one. That means I will be taking pics of some of my other builds to post, before I have to give the camara back.

ArmorMaster, Yes in the movie he was atop a Sherman, but from what I understand when the movie was made they couldn't get their hands on a M10, so they had to go with the Sherman. Audie Murphy wasn't real pleased about using a Sherman either.

Awsome!!! I like the figure and the shell hits! Didn't Audie Murphy shoot atop a sherman in the movie? Just wondering it's been a while since I've seen it. But dang awsome Trevor! Can't wait to see the dio!

I like the weathering job Trevor, nicely done. We should put a side by side with M1Abramsrules Audie tank to get a comparison. Thumbs Up [tup]

Nice M10, as a kid in Keansburg (not far from exit 7a) I read Audy's book "To Hell and Back" I seem to remember that one track was in a ditch on the side of the road, the M10 was on fire and the Kraut infantry didn't see him on the M10 because of black oil smoke and fire. He gunned them down, forceing the Kraut armor to retreat as they had no support. That's where he got the MOH. Winter, snow, pine trees. It'll be a great dio and honor a true hero. G.L>

Looking good Trevor, wasn't the real one actually on fire?

Keyworth, I used Academy's kit with Eduard PE and the tracks are from Tamiya's M4A3, I didn't like Academy's tracks. The markings are Archer's dry transfer.

Nice work Trevor. It's interesting to see historical context brought to life. BTW, which kit did you use for the M10?

Nice work on the details, stowage, and especially the "knockout" holes. They have a slightly jagged look as opposed to the neatly drilled holes often used. Maybe add a little drybrushed steel around the penetration edge to simulate bare stressed metal typical under an AT shell hit?

Ought to look great weathered up a bit and placed on a base, good progress so far. Thumbs Up [tup]

I like that a lot! Particularly the shell hits. Well done!

Once you pick out a base, a little dust along the road wheels and track to tie it to whatever color dirt you put on the base and it will look excellent.

Well done!

Enjoy your modeling...

I've been working on this, off and on for a long time now and it's still not done. I'm planning on putting it on a base and if I ever get that far, I'll post more pictures.
