Hetzer BMM ambush scheme
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, August 15, 2004 5:24 PM
How would one go about making the continuated circle, cloud scheme on the Hetzer? I was thinking about using a hole punch, but that is too big. also, i thought about using a die punch, but on mine, there are these pins that hold the 2 pieces together at the end, and the size i need is at the end and then restrict the paper from being moved and completing the cloud. Any help.

There is an article in the last AFV magazine about doing the "disk" ambush pattern.. I think they used a circle template to trace the pattern on a stencil, then cut out the parts of the stencil to be painted..

I did an ambush schemed Hetzer a while back. I have to get pics of it. I saw a pic of a Hetzer with 2 tone camp and small triangles as teh ambush scheme. I made the small triangles in different sizes using plastic card. If you have a Histerex Round Punch and Die set you could get very small circles.

I thought about using a mechanical pencil eraser, which would be about the right size, as a rubber stamp. Cut the end off nice and flat, dip into a thin layer of paint and apply. At least in theory, I've not actually tried this, but it may be worth an experiment.
