I don't have it. The copy I saw at a bookstore was shrink-wrapped so I couldn't peruse it. Angry [:(!] This appears to be the last word on these babies. I probably should have nabbed it, but I just didn't need it!

Thanks.
With 610 pages and over 800 photos that should be one beauty of a book. At $99 though, I think I'll have to wait on it. Maybe Christmas.

Peter, It's a real nice kit. The only drawback is the 'idler', it has no way of positively positioning it. You have to sort of figure where you want it to go based on how the tracks end up.

Thanks again guys. I guess I'm going to do some more or maybe build the other with the guides and stripes and dents (oh my).

Phroosh, it's the 1/16. The whole kit is about the width of a 1/35 Tigers tracks. See why I like these now? I can finish something, sort of.

Tigerman, A lot smaller than the Ketten tracks. They are narrower than a 1/35 helmut.

Dwight, look at the sidecar, from the front to the back of the seat is the total length of this kit. Jump in! You get two.

Peridexion, Do you know which Jentz book covers these and the Borgwards? I have Panzertruppen '39-'42 but I remember reading somewhere that he did a more specific PT book cover this type. Any ideas?

Very nice ausf, The DML seems a lot nicer than the ESCI one I have here in the box. That one had solid (and I mean SOLID) tracks moulded to the wheels and side panel. The moulding seam runs smack round the middle of them.

Looks nice ausf! Don't forget those two white stripes on the back there. They were painted on to help guide the operator in steering it to the target.

And it came with indy tracks, too! Cool build, Ausf.

Well that's it. These tiny beauties really are telling me to build. I am starting my BMW R75 Sidecar, now. LOL.

Cool little kit. Since they were a one-time shot so to speak, I imagine they weren't too weathered up. Are the tracks link to link and are they smaller than the kettens? I like the supple weather job, not overdone.

Here's the real thing, I guess I better add the 'bumper', it's actually a guide for the wires. some more dents and weather wouldn't hurt either.

It was electric with Bosch motors and designated sdkfz 302.

Thanks guys.

Mike, this was a throw back to when I was a kid, I came home from the LHS with my son, he played with what he got, I played (cleaned up the parts and glued the hull together) with what I got and we went out to play. Came back in for dinner, I Airbrushed the hull and tracks on the sprue and assembled the whole shebang about an hour later.
A quick watercolor wash and Bob's your uncle. Loved it.

Abarne, you got it. I didn't even look into these things at all, it just caught my eye at the store. I guess I should go see about 'em. The box art seems to depict a defense of Berlin scene with rubble, wrecked Tigers and desperate looking guys sending this thing off.

Moses, this is 1/35, I thought you liked that scale? Granted it's smaller than a sidecar, but it's still 1/35.

Wbill, Dragon. It's ABed XF-60 with hand watercolor details. The kit is pretty cool, they give you two of the buggers and four figures with gear for $10. There is a spool of wire inside I forgot to take a pic of and a bumper for the back that would have seriously compromised my quality of life if I tried to fix after I cracked it on the sprue.

Looks great to me ausf, nice scale effect with the painting and shadowing on the little guy. Hand painted? The indy tracks look like a lot of fun, I may have to grab one. Which manufacturer again? Edit: Banged Head [banghead] helps if I actually read the thread title... Big Smile [:D]

Is that one of those littel remote controlled bombs that the Germans used to try and disrupt the Normandy landings?

As far as the finish, without having any reference photos handy with which to compare, it seems quite good. I think you have some nice shadowing there. As for it being one tone, I wouldn't expect to see on something that small the color tone variation that you might see on a large vehicle. I would think color tones would vary due to uneven weathering and uneven paint application even to the extent of switching cans in the middle of the paint job. Both those kinds of effects would seem to be mitigated on such a little bugger. All in all splendid effort!

That would definitely qualify me for the nut ward Ausf? That is one incredible job, and I can't believe you did that in as short a time as you say! The pictures tell it all, no critisim from this ward. semper fi, mike

Here's the pics from the build in the other thread. Like I mentioned, it's about the size on my thumb, indy tracks and all. A lot of fun in a short time (about 5 hours total). I think I'm hooked on these little things.

Here it is in front of the Tiger wheels for size comparison...

Does it look realistic or is it too much of one tone?
