The paintjob looks just as solid as the pics you posted of the build. I have to ask one more time considering I am not a Modern AFV person. I know you said the rack was that thickness becuase it was 2x4's which would be all good. But you have put paintchips on it that resemble metal underneath. Are these racks made out of metal? Becuase that is going to be one heavy rack at that thickness. I must be wrong, but only trying to give an honest observation.

Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys , I still got some details to work out but it's pretty much done, Moses I am going for the 2x4 effect but I guess I should have left the chips to the metal of the hummer and not the ben thanks for noticing, Butz I will be attending a local show here in Dallas, Im afraid Im not willing to drive to NY for a show but wish I could make it.

jess i have never entered a contest, i dont do well enough to enter. i have never had a model judged. but yours looks very good. the detail is good but not too crowded. the weathering fits the subject. i cannot critique the fine details or the accuracy. what i can do is tell you that is a great looking build.

Solid build, I like the dusty weathering. Good luck in the show.

i like the paint job and the attention to detail.I really like the tie straps on the tarp and bedrolls.I have never competed or anything but I noticed what looks like a mold line on the bedroll.Mold lines are the bane of any detailers existance, so don't feel to badSmile [:)]
I don't know about the judges but I think you did a great jobBig Smile [:D]

Looks pretty good. A few things I noticed though. On the first picture, you can see the underside of the M16A2 and the packs and bedrolls and tell that they are sand colored and not fully painted. That is why I always paint and weather extra gear and attach is separately after the vehicle is painted and weathered. I was wondering how they were going to get painted fully when I saw them atteched in your earlier, pre-painting post. Also, your side reflectors are a little sloppy and the colors go onto the body of the vehicle. As stated earlier, lots of mold lines present. Next time, try to scrape or sand these off . This will make it look more realistic. Lastly, your wheels are missing the center pieces. Look at the photo below.

Overall a solid build. Make the above changes or work on them for the next one and it will be even better.

Like Tanker42 I noticed the mold line on the bedrolls. Its my opinion but something about the extras you've added... bedrolls, tents and bags, doesnt look right. Thats just my opinion though and Im not really sure I couild offer any advice on how to fix it, maybe another coat of dull coat? I really dont know. But other than that the whole thing looks great. I hope mine turns out as nice. Some question....
Scale and make? and the photos you took turned out great too. What kind of camera do you use to get such great close up detail?

Sorry, liked this build so much Im still staring at it and have some more to add.
Mold line running right down the center of the tires and an injection pin mark on the hook of the winch.
There was a comment somewhere else in the tread about the centers to the wheel missing. I cant see the pic (the dreaded red x) but Im assuming the person is refering to the peice of metal that looks like two triangles with a hollow bar running through the center of them. Dont worry about that, Having lots of experience with HUMVEES I can tell you that not all of them have them. How and when they're removed I dont know for sure but Im sure I have pics of HUMVEES with and without them so that part of your model is accurate either way I can email you any pics if your intrested or anyone else for that matter.

Good luck in the competition

hey Awood I would love some pics of humvees, I had a real problem finding detailed pics of this particular version, wow the lines you guys are referring to are hard to see without such a big picture, I fixed the center caps and gave them a wash and added them, looks like they were never there, I fixed what I could on the bedrolls, I didnt take as much time with this build as I usually do thats why all the messy lines, which doesnt look that bad to the naked eye up close, but these pictures are so detailed it shows the good and the bad, Hey guys the camera I use is my girlfiends it is a KODAK Easy share DX4530 w/5.0 megapixel my girlfiend wouldnt take anyless on the pixel's because she uses it for photography thanks for all the help guys Ive fixed everything you guys mentioned and hope I didn't leave anything out
