hi mates Wink [;)], just wondering what the smallest piece of armour you guys ever build in 1/35 scale? that's because i'm in progress of building a tankietka tks z20mm (it is polish) from the brand: RPM it is in lenght: 7cm, with: 5cm, high:4cm. only have one in 1/72 scale for comparisson and that is the main soviet battletank t80 and that is 1cm longer Laugh [(-D]

I'm just starting my RPM T-60, it is pretty darn small compared to the Maus I just finished! Maybe the Germans could have welded a davit on the side of the Maus and used the T-60 as a dingy? It's about the right size! Tongue [:P]

Smallest 1/35 item I've done was the Kettenkrad. It measured just over 4 cm in length when finished without inlcuding the towed Puppchen.

I'm also working on the TKS at the minute. It is certainly the smallest 1/35 AFV model I've built.
The French UE tankette (also made by RPM/Mirage) is nearly as small but is slightly longer.

As far as non-armoured vehicles go (not counting motorcycles) the Kettenkrad must be one of the smallest. (Though
it's actually slightly longer than the TKS and UE)
There's also a post-war French Jeep-type vehicle which is very small - can't remember the name but I saw it
in the Cobbaton museum, I think it was originally intended to be dropped by parachute - if there is a 1/35 kit
available for this, it might count as the smallest unarmoured military vehicle model!

"small builds that can fire something"

So far...it would be a Renaut R-35 followed closely by a M3A1 Stuart. My Kubelwagon was smaller, but it doesn't fire something. The R-35 was 11cm long, 6cm tall, and 5.5cm wide.

Enjoy your modeling...

Probably Fine Molds WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Type 94 "TK". A very small tankette from a company that produces some of the finest 1/35 scale tiny tanks.

For a modern armor kit it would be AFV Club's West German Wiesel (Weasel). This one comes with a 20mm gun, and another comes with a TOW launcher.

Mine would be the Tamiya SAS jeep. It is also the longest running unfinished kit I have. I started in 1991, put it back in its box, and never finished it. It's in my workshop waiting to be finished.

On the bench: 1/32 Spit IXc

I've built a tamiya motercyle, but that doesn't count, so I'd say the panzer 4.

I did a quick check between my RPM TKS and my Fine Molds Type 94 TK. The Type 94 is much narrower and it can fit into the hull of an unbuilt TKW (turreted version of the TKS). The Type 94 is taller than the TKS though.

Quality of the Fine Molds kit is light years ahead of the RPM kit though.

Did you go all out and try the Aber photoetch set for your TKS? It is set #35016.

It would have to be either the SdKfz222 or the M3 Stuart although the M13/40 is not much larger than the Stuart.
