Urgent advice needed...

Well, guys, I've made my choice...I've chosen the Dragon-kit, mainly for two major reason ; I like to have figures with my big gun, and the second reason ; if the Trumpeter kit is on a "turn-table", I wouldn't be able to use that anyway, I can handle the length of this kit, but with that turntable it would be far to wide.

Anyway, at shop I had some bad luck ; the Dragon-kit was sold this morning (I was in the shop this afternoon), so I had to order a new one... delay : 3 weeks

Anyway, I wish to thank you all for your advice....and when I finally get the kit (and get started on it) I'll make a progress-tread of it.

I've had the chance to compare bith kits, in the box that is. I have build most of the Trumpeter model and I like it so far.
The Trumpeter model have more detail, but I think the Dragon model is easier to build.
I think either will build into a good model. You could also go for the Ironside model, all resin and Photo etch and the price, well Im not sure but more than twice what you will pay for a Trumpeter.

Ive heard that some of the parts that are molded in on the Dragon kit are individual parts on the Trumperter kit , dunno which is better though Im sure youll make a good choice, good luck on the build thats way more than I can take on right now

Trumpeter's kit DOES NOT come with figures, major down side...but if you like ti have the undercarriage total 200+ pieces Trumpeter is the way to go.

My advice is build both of the under-cars at the same time.

Trumpeter also makes some figs you can buy separetly. I think they are the same ones that come with the kit though.

Only the Dragon kit has figures, but both kits have good levels of detail. The Dragon kit has 700+ parts, the Trumpeter has 1100+.

Be advised the finished product is a monster. The Dragon will measure 43" in length when completed, I don't know the dimensions on the Trumpeter but it includes a turntable railroad section, so it's as least as big if not bigger.

The Dragon will be cheaper, but the Trumpeter delivers more individiual pieces and some of the finer detail.

Here's an excellent review of the two kits side by side. I opted for the Dragon due to price issues myself, but have yet to build it.
