The transparent parts are actually dark blue-coloured (not painted) clear Plasticard, with the void behind
them painted in silver. (Needless to say I had to mask the transparencies -very- carefully before spraying
the rest of the model!).
When I made these parts of the model, I assumed that the clear parts were blue as all my references
and photos suggested this. However I have recently read on this forum that the transparent parts on the M1
Abrams are an iridescent reddish-black colour (I assume the Bradley would be the same). So are my blue parts incorrect?

I haven't done the lenses for the headlights and rear lights yet, but when I do I will make them from clear Plasticard and overpaint with transparent enamel.

Thanks for letting me know about the Tamiya NATO paints - however I assume they are acrylic, like the other Tamiya paints?
I do all my painting in enamel, and as far as I know the two paint types are incompatible - so if I painted the base coat
in acrylic, I wouldn't be able to paint the details and weathering with Humbrol/Revell enamels?

Can't wait to see the finished paint scheme. I thought Tamiya made a color called NATO Green, maybe it's aircraft or UN, I get UN and NATO mixed up sometimes. Nice mantlet on your Sheridan.

Finally painted the base coat on the Bradley..

Well, I've -finally- got round to painting the base coat on my 1/24 M2A2 Bradley.
I airbrushed it with diluted Humbrol #81 (I don't normally use an airbrush, but it seemed
like the best way for covering a very large model evenly).
The model looks a lot better now it's painted (it actually looks more like a tank now, or rather
an IFV!),

Next step is to paint the other 2 colours (black and brown) in its NATO camouflage scheme (Humbrol 81 was the closest match
I could find to NATO camo green), paint the details (gun, tracks etc.), and add markings and weathering. I also need to
add the gunsight (on the frame above the turret), headlight lenses, and aerial masts.

It could also do with some crew figures, external and internal stowage, etc, but I'm not sure what to do about these -
are there any aftermarket suppliers for this sort of thing in 1/24 scale? I assume not since it isn't exactly a popular
AFV modelling scale these days.

Anyway, here are the pics:

And this is the colour scheme I'm aiming for:

I've also scratchbuilt a gun and mantlet for the Sheridan model I'm working on. I didn't realise
there were so many different types of mantlet for the Sheridan until I researched the subject! This
is an early type as far as I know, and is a fairly simple casting (it needs more filing/sanding around
the edges to give a more rounded appearance). The gunner's telescope and sight are also visible on the model,
the co-ax MG port is also present but can't be seen in the picture. I haven't added the laser rangefinder box
(fitted above the main gun barrel) yet.
