Willy Fey's '134' Tiger
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 3:09 PM
Hello Guys,

I was wondering if any one knew of some sources for images (if they exist) of Fey's '134' Tiger I of the s.SS-Pz.Abt. 102 that fought in Normandy?

Thanks!

What? You mean this little ol' thang?

I have one photo of him with 2 crew members sitting against the rear of their vehicle too, but you can't see much of the tank.

Hey, I like that. Is that a mid or late production Tiger?

That would be a Late Version, steel wheels and such.

Do you know if those decals are in with Tamiya's late kit or in the Techmod late Tiger decal set?

I don't know. I just have a Tamiya Mid-Pro hanging around in the garage unbuilt. The numbers would be easy enough, the only trick would be the single, underlined, "PINK LIGHTNING" insignia on the superstructure next to the driver's vision port. Some s SS 102 vehicles had this insignia on the rear hull where the jack block would normally be.
I don't know if Willy had this on the rear end or not, but he would have had it on the front.

I was looking around online for info on Techmods decals. They say they have decals for 12 tanks, but not which ones.

It doesn't have Fey's vehicle, but it does have 221 from SS 102, with the Pink Lightning

It is interesting to note that some of 102's numbers are hollow, like 134, 001(Weiss), 241(Endemann) and 231(Loritz) and others are filled black, like 221's.

64condors- are yyou pieceing the decals together or did you find them somewhere?

Peridexion- thats odd that their numbers differ. I wonder why? Where they painted on or were they issued decals? I guess if it was decals, it could be a shortage, If it is painted on, who knows?

Thanks, I saw that. That's where I originally saw the camo scheme and decided I liked it. I didn't do much research, though. I think I will try to do it in 1/35th, however. Not a big 1/72nd fan- too small for my big hands!

Actually I'm working on a new project to convert Tamiya's Early Tiger tank in 1/16 scale to a Late version.

Here is Willy, chewing the fat behind his steed, he is the guy in the center.

It did not say who the others were.
