the soldering iron will take some practice. But it works pretty good. Just hold the soldering iron on the opposite side of visibility (ie. the interior) wait for the plastic to heat up and then use a knife or dental tool to make a dent on the other side. Just be careful not to make a hole, its really easy to overheat the plastic. for making bullet holes I have used a bobby pin (used for sewing). just heat the pin up red hot over a candle and the puntcture the plastic.
hope this helps a little.

Check out this site for examples of the damage you seek to inflict on your beautiful Tiger:

As far as actually replicating the damage, it depends if you want the hit to be penetrating or not. If yes, then use a soldering iron or something similar to create the indented impact. For the holes in the shrouds, try using a drill bit and then make the edges a little more jagged with the sharp point of a hobby knife.

(note: I've never used either of these techniques myself and strongly recommend trying them out on a sheet of scrap plastic or old model kit before attempting on your completed item).

I'm currently working on my first 1/35th Tiger and would like to show some battle damage. I've done the missing/damaged mud guards before. What I'm really looking for is like a direct hit from a main round in the front-type damage. Any suggestions? Also, how do I get detailed bullet holes in the exhaust shrouds?

Thanks
Keith
