Fruil or Model Kasten Tracks? (Panther D)
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 5:54 AM
I just got my Panther D kit and I am in the process of selecting aftermarket accessories for it. I am having trouble deciding between The Fuil and MK tracks...

Any recommendations?? (This is my first set of aftermarket tracks....I Know I know..where have I been!?!?) :)

Thanks to any who can offer assistence!

Shane,
Here is my D Panther with Fruilmodel tracks. I use them exclusively on all my german armor. See my post in the Armor Forum to find out how easy they are to assemble. Other guys prefer Model Kasten because they like to work with plastic. I like the Fruil's because they are heavy and always give the correct sag like the real article. Plus, they are easy to assemble and after paint, you can remove paint in certain spots to let the natural metal show in the "wear" areas.

I've converted away from both MK and Fruil (except where they are the only option) and love WWII Productions tracks. Their selection is somewhat limited (but growing) and I think they are the best AM resin tracks on the market.

Enjoy your modeling...

I prefer ModelKasten tracks ovcer Fruil. That is if you can get your hands on them at the moment. Fruil Tracks are great though and take at least half the time to put together, but are not casted as well as MK tracks.

Thx for the replies everyone!

Crockett, which Fruil tracks are you using on that Panther D? Are they the ATL-8 tracks or a different model number?

Thx again!!

Arklight: Use the panther early tracks for the D model , there is also a late set which will not fit properly on your tank , those are for late A models or the G models ATL -33 is the kit you want in fruil
