how to make flags.
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, April 28, 2003 12:10 PM
Hi,

Can anybody tell me how to make a flag? (like those nazi flags placed on top of tanks and trucks)

Thank you,

I did one of these a number of years ago by this method. First I used a kleenex sheet and soaked it in a 50 / 50 mix of white glue and water. I then laid it over the location where the flag was going to go and let it dry. I then painted the background of the flag in red with a white center. Finally I placed a decal of a swaztika in the center. This worked pretty good. It was also sprayed with dullcote along with the rest of the model.

Alternatively, use talcum/baby powder to roll very thin sheets of Milliput. Place on the model and gently push into position over any items underneath. Let dry, then paint (the decal svastika is a great idea!).

A guy from forum suggested to me using aluminium foil. It turned out okay, but i painted the swastika badly. A decal will surely help.

Jara,

I used a piece of Kleenex sheet, than I airbrushed with red nankim paint. I let it dry and after I painted the the comunist symbol. To fix at the dio base I used a mix of white glue and water. take a look at the result:

Best wishes and good luck! Wink [;)]
